Pepsico

Bedtime story for my children revolved around various topics and finally landed up with a video of PepsiCo CEO Indhra Nooyi's successful career as a woman, where she says, "I was from Madras, which was water-starved...." and then the entire episode of her becoming a CEO with PepsiCo. My younger one, 8 years old daughter, interrupted and said, "mom, I see despite her education and her own experience of water starved Madras, she has made a big blunder by becoming a CEO of "water sucking Industry" and depriving drinking water for people of her own birth place, and what is the use of she is being modest?" and I'm dumb struck! 

பிள்ளைகள் உறங்க இரவு நேர கதைகள் என்று பல கதைகள் சொல்லி, இறுதியாக பெப்ஸிக்கோ-வின் முதன்மை செயல் அதிகாரி திருமதி. இந்திரா நூயி யின் வெற்றி வரலாற்று காணோளியை வந்தடைந்தோம், அதில் திருமதி. இந்திரா, "நான் மெட்ராஸில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தேன், அதுவும் தண்ணீர் பஞ்சம் நிறைந்த மெட்ராஸ்..." என்று தொடர்ந்து அவர் பெப்ஸிக்கோ வில் முதன்மை அதிகாரியானது, அவர் கடந்து வந்த பாதையைப் பற்றிச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டு போக, இடையே குறுக்கிட்ட என் எட்டு வயது இளைய மகள் கேட்டாள், "அம்மா, அவங்க இவ்வளவு படிச்சு, தண்ணீர் பிரச்சினையுள்ள சென்னையில் வளர்ந்தும், பூமியில தேவையில்லாத ஒரு கூல்டிரிங்க்குக்காக, ஜனங்களுக்கு குடிக்கிற தண்ணியில்லாம உறிஞ்சுற ஒரு கம்பெனிக்கு ஏன் தலைவரா ஆனாங்க? இவங்க படிச்சு, அடக்கமா அமைதியா இருந்தாலும் அதனால என்ன யூஸ்?!"
நான் வாய்மூடி மௌனியானேன்!
